About Captivise

We work across concert stages, ballrooms, and theaters, to ensure every event is delivered with cost efficient solutions that bring emotion to light.

Our method is to conceptualize and present renderings that help you see and feel what your event will look like before a rental agreement is even drafted. Then we combine technical expertise and other industry technicians with world class programming, to ensure your event delivers the emotional impact you desire, on time, and on budget.

We can handle any event, engineer any solution, and deliver any result, no matter how complex or unlikely the scenario is.

FAQ

What types of projects do you take on?
Lighting, video, or Unreal Engine and TouchDesigner development — for permanent installations or temporary events, from concept, to reality, to memory.
What do you do for lighting?
Lighting or video for corporate events, theatre, dance, or concerts — permanent or temporary. That covers concepts, renderings, sourcing gear, blueprints for setup, installation, programming, show execution, and load-out. I program on GrandMA3 and GrandMA2, and Hog 5 and Hog 4.
What else can you do for events?
If you want to get creative, I do interactive installations with Unreal Engine or TouchDesigner. I have a DMX plugin named 1M Lights that brings DMX-controllable fixtures into Unreal Engine for pre-production or virtual production. I can also handle in-camera VFX from Unreal Engine. I love this form of development and am open to nearly any interactive or immersive project.
What don't you do?
I can call a connection for any task, but personally: I don't handle audio (except audio from videos and audio going into records), pyrotechnics or fireworks, Christmas lights, or drive semi trucks. What I don't do helps me stay focused on what I want to keep learning.
How did you get into this industry?
It started by needing a fine arts credit in high school — that's it. I planned to take stagecraft at Highland High School in Gilbert, Arizona for one year. Three years later, I was still involved. After high school, a referral to a labor company for concerts changed everything. After my first concert I came home with a sore neck from staring up. I was addicted, and still am. I love this industry, and if I was given a million dollars I'd still work in it.
Do you travel for projects?
Yes, and I enjoy it. I have my passport and am willing to travel anywhere.
What software and hardware do you work with?
Anything I'm willing to learn, but what I've gotten fairly comfortable with: GrandMA3, GrandMA2, Hog 1000, Hog 4, Hog 5, Chamsys, ETC Element, Black Magic ATEM Switchers, TouchDesigner, Resolume, Novastar LED mappers, Linsn LED mappers, and Unreal Engine.
What roles do you feel comfortable working?
L1 of any facet, L2, V1, or V2 — or, if the pay matches my L2/V2 rate, a general tech.
Do you offer equipment rental alongside design services?
I focus on design, programming, and operation rather than gear ownership. I own basic control equipment — ATEM switchers, GrandMA2 and MA3 wings, and computers. I work closely with trusted rental vendors and can manage the equipment sourcing process as part of a full-service engagement.
